Job Summary
Manage the product buying cycle for brands with lower impact and assist Buyer with managing buying cycle for higher magnitude brands.
Job Responsibilities
• Write purchase orders and develop monthly flows for product buys, including size curve balancing
• Assist in product line building with (Buyers, Director and GMMs)
• Evaluate market trends, sales analytics and consumer tracking to assist in assortment building
• Participate in vendor meetings with Buyers, Director, Buying and GMMs
• Negotiate with vendors on requests for returns and markdowns, including damages
• Evaluate product lines from new vendors, recommend whether to test brand in stores
• Accurately track orders working cross functionally with Logistics, Distribution and Merchandising
• Communicate buy plans with Buyer/Merchandisers
Job Requirements
• 2-5 years’ experience in buying/merchandising
• Adept at retail math (sell thru, margin, inventory sales)
• Highly analytical and detail oriented
• Ability to utilize multiple software platforms
• Strong communication skills (collaboration/negotiation)
• Strong interpersonal skills
