This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers, postdocs, and scientists who want to contribute to something meaningful on their own schedule. No prior AI experience required — your biology expertise is what matters. • Organization: Alignerr • Type: Hourly Contract • Location: Remote • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do • Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, meaningful problem statements • Evaluate AI-generated biological reasoning for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen model performance • Ensure rigorous scientific standards across all deliverables — from problem framing to solution review Who You Are • Holds a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.) • Fluent in Python or R — comfortable using code as a tool in research or analytical work • Deep subject matter expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics • Exceptionally clear communicator — able to translate complex science into precise, well-structured written explanations • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and dependable when working independently • Fluent in English Nice to Have • Prior experience with data annotation, data labeling, or AI evaluation workflows • Background in computational biology or systems biology • Experience writing for scientific publications, grant applications, or technical documentation • Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts as they relate to life sciences Why Join Us • Work on frontier AI projects alongside the world's leading research labs • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work • Put your graduate training to use in a high-impact, applied context outside traditional academia • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
