Job description: The Business Operations Manager (BOM) is responsible for the management of the school's core business functions - accounting, HR, facilities and technology - as well as managing and overseeing day-to-day operations in the front office, including maintaining a pristine office space and welcoming and directing current and prospective families, students and guests. The BOM is a multi-talented leader who maintains and optimizes school systems, owns and is accountable for key school and campus processes like procurement and facilities maintenance, and partners with the Director of School Operations and School Leader to ensure our schools are well-run, fully compliant and financially secure, during both in-person and virtual learning.The Business Operations Manager reports to the Director of School Operations and works closely with the Regional Operations, Accounting, HR, Facilities and Technology teams, the School Operations team, and School Leadership.Preferred QualificationsExperience:
Education: Knowledge/skills required: Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesManages daily office operations Oversees day-to-day accounting, contracting and vendor management procedures Ensures compliance with all school and regional HR policies and procedures Serve as the school-level operational lead for technology management Physical, Mental and Environmental DemandsPhysical:Ability to navigate both office and campus environments, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment up to 20 lbs.Mental:Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.Environmental:Office and/or classroom environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Occasional classroom/school environment and travel. In emergency context (e.g., pandemic) work may be conducted virtually fully or partially for extended periods of time or longer, and the expectation is that the individual will establish a productive, remote work environment (e.g., ability to stay connected through different technology means).
