Pediatric Professional Medical Coder
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Professional Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pediatric professional fee coding, E/M leveling, and coding guidelines, along with experience utilizing Epic. This role is responsible for reviewing provider documentation, assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
Review and code pediatric professional fee encounters.
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier usage based on provider documentation
Perform E/M leveling in accordance with current AMA and CMS guidelines
Utilize Epic for coding workflow and charge review
Ensure coding accuracy, productivity, and compliance standards are consistently met
Review documentation for medical necessity and appropriate code assignment
Identify and communicate documentation opportunities or coding discrepancies to providers and leadership
Maintain current knowledge of coding updates, payer guidelines, and regulatory changes

Skills
Strong understanding of pediatric terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
Ability to work independently and manage productivity expectations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and coding software systems
Ability to adapt to workflow and system changes in a fast-paced environment
