A bit about us:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to support vertical and industrial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on federal clients and compliance-driven environments. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction strategy, competitive bidding, and successful project delivery for complex building and facilities work.
This is an estimator-first position: ideal for someone who thrives in vertical construction, industrial facilities, and federal procurement environments, and who enjoys collaborating closely with operations, design teams, and leadership from pursuit through handoff.
Civil/site work experience is a plus, but heavy civil is not the core focus of this role.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed, competitive cost estimates for vertical and industrial construction projects, including federal facilities
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to confirm complete scope, execution requirements, and compliance obligations
• Develop quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Utilize industry-standard estimating and takeoff software in accordance with established processes
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, labor rates, and equipment assumptions
• Analyze historical project data to improve estimate accuracy and future bid performance
• Identify project risks, constructability concerns, cost drivers, and long-lead procurement items
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare bid forms, pricing exhibits, and supporting documentation for proposals
• Coordinate closely with operations to review schedules, logistics, scopes, and execution strategies
• Support seamless handoff from estimate to project budget and execution teams
• Track bid history and prospective opportunities
• Monitor construction and material cost trends impacting estimates
• Evaluate alternate means and methods to identify cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with internal teams to support proposal, pricing, and technical requirements
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Advanced ability to prepare accurate budgets and cost estimates for vertical and industrial construction
• Strong understanding of building systems, including structural, architectural, and MEP scopes
• Knowledge of project cost control, revenue models, and cost-to-complete concepts
• Proficiency with estimating and digital takeoff software (experience with tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, HeavyBid, or similar platforms is a plus)
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids under deadline pressure
• Ability to clearly communicate estimate assumptions, risks, and findings
• High attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass standard pre-employment screenings
Preferred Qualifications:
• 8–10+ years of experience estimating vertical or industrial construction projects
