The Compliance Investigator supports the DHS and Reports to the Sr. Program Manager. This Position is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance analyzing civil rights and civil liberties complaints.
• Process incoming allegations in a timely manner and ensure data related to correspondence and complaints is thoroughly, accurately, and concisely entered into the database.
• Present matters that have been processed, providing issue spotting for the reviewer.
• Triage specialized complaints, such as medical allegations, when tasked for processing; save and upload subject matter expert reviews of allegations, and compile summaries for bi-weekly meetings to review specialized allegations.
• Assist Compliance Branch management and staff in compiling necessary information on complaint activity to meet quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Assist with overall management of complaint data and information; generate and analyze reports with accurate information; gather and compile data and respond to ad-hoc requests under the guidance of permanent workforce; Assist with responses to information requests; edit and finalize referral, close, and other investigative documents and handle the dissemination of such documents (as needed); and other duties.
• Support and assist program managers with a variety of tracking mechanisms by reviewing reports and updating information contained in excel spreadsheets.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least three (3) years of experience as a paralegal or other para-professional or related education or practical work that can substitute for the experience.
• Bachelor's degree
• General knowledge of the American legal system and justice issues, including civil rights, criminal and/or immigration law.
• Skilled in written communications
• Skilled in identifying compliance issues
• Experience entering and maintaining data and information.
• Demonstrated success as a highly organized self-starter, with attention to detail, multitasking various priorities under deadline, and experience in a team environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to undertake new projects and ability to learn new systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
