Role: DB2 SysAdm DBA
Must-Have Skills
• Experience as a DB2 (z/OS) Database Administrator.
• Strong understanding of DB2 internals, fundamentals, installation, and operational support.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 Data Sharing in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
• Knowledge of system performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Experience with DB2 security interfaces, including SMP/E and UserMods.
• Experience installing and administering DB2 tools and ISV (Independent Software Vendor) products.
• Working knowledge of:
• REXX
• HTML
• Java
• CICS/DB2
• MQ/DB2
• Experience integrating and installing OEM vendor tools.
• Expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, implementation, and support.
• Strong proficiency in:
• DB2 systems performance tuning
• Capacity planning
• Application performance tuning
• Access path analysis
• SQL performance tuning
• Experience using DB2 monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of logical and physical database design.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, maintain, and support DB2 databases on z/OS.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Support DB2 data-sharing environments in Parallel Sysplex.
• Manage disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Implement security standards and database compliance requirements.
• Install and maintain DB2-related OEM and third-party tools.
• Analyze SQL performance issues and optimize access paths.
• Work closely with application teams supporting CICS, MQ, Java, and REXX-based applications.
• Perform capacity planning and ensure database scalability.

• Extensive experience in enterprise-scale DB2 z/OS environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with high-availability and mission-critical systems.
