Job Description:
• Code emergency department charts, including trauma cases, urgent care visits, and procedural documentation
• Apply coding guidelines to ensure compliance with payer and regulatory standards
• Maintain productivity targets (average 10 charts/hour) and quality scores above 95%
• Communicate with QA teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy
• Keep up-to-date with ED-specific coding changes and best practice
Requirements:
• Active AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency department coding experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC and 3M 360 platforms.
• Familiarity with ED workflows, documentation styles, and coding nuance.
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication.
• Proven ability to meet high-volume productivity goals.
• Experience with remote coding systems and per-chart compensation models.
