We are seeking an experienced and ESE-certified Curriculum Writer to adapt an existing Essential Life Skills curriculum for students in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs. This role requires expertise in differentiating content to meet a wide range of learning needs, including Resource ESE and Access Points levels. The ideal candidate has a strong background in curriculum development and a deep understanding of instructional strategies that support diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adapt an existing Essential Life Skills curriculum to be accessible and engaging for ESE students across multiple levels
• Develop differentiated lesson materials that align with both Resource and Access Points standards
• Ensure all lessons incorporate appropriate scaffolding, accommodations, and modifications
• Create clear, teacher-friendly lesson plans, student materials, and supporting resources
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with program goals and expectations
• Revise materials based on feedback in a timely manner
Deliverables & Timeline:
• 16 completed lessons during summer 2026
Required Qualifications:
• Current ESE (Exceptional Student Education) certification
• Proven experience in curriculum writing and instructional design for high school
• Demonstrated experience developing or adapting curriculum for students with varying learning needs, including Access Points
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications
• Familiarity with Florida B.E.S.T. English standards
• Experience with life skills, transition, or workforce readiness curriculum
• Background in creating inclusive, student-centered instructional materials
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple deliverables independently
