Estimator – Custom Switchgear Manufacturing (Remote)

Our products include: • Panelboards up to 2000A • Service & Distribution Switchboards up to 8000A • Generator Connection Boxes • Generator Output Switchboards • Single & Double-Ended Substations Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a background in low-voltage switchgear manufacturing to support our growing team. This is a hands-on, plug-and-play role. The ideal candidate will be able to independently develop accurate cost estimates for custom-engineered electrical equipment with minimal training. Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered: To be considered, resumes should clearly reflect how the candidate meets the required qualifications for this role. • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in LOW VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR MANUFACTURING • Experience estimating: • Switchboards • Panelboards • Custom switchgear assemblies • Strong knowledge of: • UL 891 • UL 1558 • NEC • NEMA • Ability to: • Interpret one-line diagrams and electrical drawings • Build Bills of Material (BOMs) • Perform component-level costing • Willing to travel to NJ for 3 weeks of training. Not a Fit For • Construction-only electrical estimators • Utility / substation estimators • Candidates without switchgear manufacturing experience Responsibilities • Review drawings, specifications, one-lines, and bid documents • Prepare accurate estimates for material, labor, and production costs • Price custom switchboards, panelboards, substations, and related equipment • Obtain pricing and lead times from vendors and suppliers • Coordinate with engineering to ensure manufacturability • Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities • Prepare customer quotations and proposals in a timely manner • Maintain historical cost data and pricing records • Support project handoff after award Qualifications • 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical equipment, switchgear, panelboards, or related manufacturing • Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications • Strong knowledge of breakers, bus systems, switchboards, and power distribution equipment • Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing • Comfortable working in Excel-based estimating environments • Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Travel 5% of the time Preferred Qualifications • Electrical Engineering degree or technical background • Experience in a custom / build-to-order manufacturing environment • ERP / MRP software experience • Knowledge of UL standards and NEC codes Apply Today If you have estimating experience in switchgear, electrical equipment, or manufacturing and are looking for a stable, growing company, we’d like to hear from you.
