Key Responsibilities
- Help drive Azure platform security and engineering programs, focusing on meeting and exceeding security standards, customer requirements, and regulatory demands
- Collaborate with team members to develop strategies and processes for various security and compliance programs, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Coordinate cross-team efforts to drive engineering solutions to technical challenges, delivering high-quality solutions on committed schedules and project plans
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to FedRAMP compliance findings, identifying risks and escalating them to senior levels as needed
- Ensure timely delivery of monthly reports to government customers, leveraging existing automation and working with developers to continuously improve the toolset
- Review and audit Azure's procedures, practices, and documents to identify potential vulnerabilities or risks, recommending improvements and implementing changes as necessary
- Engage with customer and partner teams to provide ad hoc compliance support, fostering strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. The following qualifications and requirements are essential:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, information technology) and at least 2+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical program management and cloud security
- 1+ year of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment
- 1+ year of experience in cybersecurity or supporting compliance audits (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC 2, PCI, ISO, HITRUST), with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- 5+ years of experience managing vulnerability management or compliance-related engineering programs, with a strong focus on partnering with internal services and security partners
- Previous experience with compliance certifications and audits, such as FedRAMP, with a deep understanding of the audit process and regulatory requirements
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), and/or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) certification, demonstrating expertise in cloud security and compliance
- Technical security experience, especially in vulnerability management, CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System), patching, and exception reviews
- Demonstrable written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of query languages like KQL/SQL, automation, data pipelines, and/or reporting, with experience working with data analytics tools and technologies
- Enthusiasm, integrity, detail-oriented, results-driven, self-motivated, and resourceful, with a strong passion for cloud security and compliance
