In the last 18 months at Loka, our teams have helped clients advance the world’s #1 AI reading tutor, eliminate $1B in food waste and develop novel drugs for fighting cancer. To cap it off, at the end of 2024 Loka was recognized by AWS as Innovation Partner of the Year, outshining 150,000 partners for the title. And we did it all while working remotely and enjoying every other Friday off 😎.
As HR Business Partner Lead, you’ll manage and develop a distributed team of five HRBPs operating across three regions - while staying close to the work yourself. This is a player-coach role: you’ll set the standard for what great HRBP work looks like at Loka, partner directly with senior leaders and ensure global HR frameworks land effectively across very different local contexts.
You won’t just manage a team. You’ll shape the people strategy that underpins how Loka grows, and you’ll be hands-on enough to model what good looks like.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead, develop and manage a team of five Regional and Global HRBPs across LATAM, Western Europe and Eastern Europe
Set clear expectations for quality, scope ownership and proactive partnership
Coach team members on complex cases - performance management, organizational change, manager capability and employee relations
Build a consistent team operating model that balances regional autonomy with global coherence
Identify capability gaps and drive development across the team
Strategic HRBP Work
Act as the senior HRBP for specific senior leaders or business areas, depending on organizational needs

Escalate and resolve complex people situations with sound judgment and minimal escalation dependency
Represent the HRBP function credibly in leadership forums
Qualifications
5+ years of HRBP experience, including senior or global scope
At least 2–3 years managing or leading HR or HRBP teams (distributed experience is a strong plus)
Genuine hands-on orientation - this person should still want to be in the work, not just above it
Demonstrated experience operating as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, not just a service provider
Strong track record across performance management, organizational design and manager development
Familiarity with career frameworks, calibration processes or compensation logic
Proven ability to raise the bar on HRBP team quality - not just manage activity
Data-informed decision-making: able to use people data to build a case or challenge a narrative
