Job Summary
As a Hybrid Behavioral Health Nurse LVN/LPT, you will play a vital role in our crisis intervention and stabilization services at the Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center. You will provide direct client care, administer medications, and supervise nursing activities performed by professional and para-professional nursing personnel. Your expertise and compassion will help individuals in crisis receive the support they need to navigate challenging situations and transition to the next level of care.Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting client information
- Supervise nursing activities performed by professional and para-professional nursing personnel
- Order, prepare, administer, and document the administration of medications according to physicians' orders
- Confirm delivery of all ordered medications from the pharmacy on shift worked
- Communicate pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members
- Write weekly summaries on assigned clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation in client medical records
- Participate in crisis intervention and stabilization services, including rapid mental health assessments and crisis intervention
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology
- Valid California LVN or LPT license
- Current CPR certification
- First Aid certification from a qualified agency (e.g., American Red Cross)
- Current California Driver's License
- Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in nursing or a related field
- One (1) year of service experience treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting
- One (1) year of medication administration experience
