About the Role
The Value Stream Business Architect is a critical position that bridges the gap between business needs and technical capabilities within our Value Stream. As a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of business architecture, you'll work closely with various stakeholders to articulate the strategic vision of FedEx Logistics, analyze industry trends, and develop actionable roadmaps that drive business outcomes. Your expertise will be instrumental in simplifying complex concepts, collaborating with IT and business teams, and ensuring the effective execution of our Value Stream strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand the FedEx Logistics Value Stream, identify key requirements, and document the strategic vision.
- Business Capability Development: Articulate the connection between business needs and Value Stream capabilities, ensuring alignment with our overall business strategy.
- Current State Assessment and Transition Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of our current state and recommend transition plans for Value Streams, driving business growth and improvement.
- Roadmap Development: Lead efforts to translate Value Stream goals into actionable roadmaps, working closely with Portfolio Business Architects to break down portfolio epics into capability groupings.
- SAFe Portfolio Kanban Process: Support the SAFe Portfolio Kanban process by breaking down portfolio epics into smaller backlog bundles, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
- Value Stream Execution: Synchronize value stream execution with our strategic roadmap, driving business outcomes and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Math, IT systems, or a related discipline is required.
- Business Architecture Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in creating business capability roadmaps and deconstructing complex concepts is necessary.
- Strategic and Technical Experience: Five years of preferred experience in strategic and technical roles in large organizational projects is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of company operations and the broader FedEx enterprise is essential.
- Certification: Certification in Business Architecture is preferred, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Freight Forwarding Experience: Experience in freight forwarding is required, providing a deep understanding of the logistics industry.
- CargoWise and EDI/API Integration: Experience with CargoWise and EDI/API integration is highly desirable, enabling seamless integration and execution.
