As a Junior Clojure Developer, you'll:
Build and develop data ingestion solutions using HTTP/REST APIs and web data sources
Develop distributed backend applications and processing pipelines for data analytics
Work with technologies such as Clojure, SQL, ElasticSearch, Git, Bash, Kafka or RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
Use API integrations, authorization mechanisms, and sometimes HTML/JavaScript context when working with external services
Design improvements that make the system more effective and cost-efficient
Work in a small team with lightweight processes, regular communication, and space for your own judgment
Collaborate during core availability hours between 10:00 and 16:00 CET/CEST
The candidate must have:
Commercial backend development experience
Commercial Clojure experience or strong willingness to learn and write Clojure in practice
Good understanding of HTTP/REST APIs and backend integration patterns
Comfort working in a Unix-compatible environment
Understanding of distributed applications, microservices, or backend data processing systems
Hands-on, proactive attitude and solid engineering standards
Good communication skills and readiness to work in a collaborative team
Nice to have:
Experience using functional programming in commercial work
Experience with SQL databases or ElasticSearch
Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, or Jenkins
Exposure to web scraping, HTML, or JavaScript in data acquisition work
Big data, analytics, or large-scale data platform experience
