About the position
This is an applicant pool for Lecturer positions in Biology for the Academic Year 2026-2027. These positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding. Lecturers must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.
Responsibilities
• Conduct lectures and/or laboratory courses in the Department of Biology
• Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
Requirements
• Master’s degree in Biology or related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
• Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.
• Cover letter indicating discipline(s) or course(s) for which you are seeking a Lecturer appointment, and how you meet the minimum and desirable qualifications
• A current curriculum vitae/resume
• Names and contact information (telephone number and email addresses) of at least three professional references
• Transcript(s) showing degrees and course work appropriate to the position (copies are acceptable; however, original official transcripts will be required prior to employment).
• Satisfy employment eligibility verification requirements of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Pass reference checks of previous employers.
• Pass criminal history record checks (for certain positions).
Nice-to-haves
• Doctoral degree in Biology or related field
• Demonstrated high-quality instruction and teaching effectiveness in both lecture and laboratory settings at the college level.
