About Us
Red Cell Partners is an incubation firm building and investing in rapidly scalable technology-led companies that are bringing revolutionary advancements to market in three distinct practice areas: healthcare, cyber, and national security. United by a shared sense of duty and deep belief in the power of innovation, Red Cell is developing powerful tools and solutions to address our Nation’s most pressing problems.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Member of Technical Staff to operate as a builder–operator at the earliest stages of company creation.
This is not a traditional engineering role.
You will work at the intersection of:
product ideation
technical execution
business problem solving
…and help transform ambiguous ideas into real products, prototypes, and ultimately companies.
You’ll function like a founding engineer across multiple zero-to-one environments.
What You’ll Do
1) Turn Ideas into Products
Take loosely defined problems and transform them into concrete product directions
Break down ambiguous concepts into structured technical approaches
Rapidly prototype and validate ideas using modern AI-augmented workflows
2) Build 0→1 Across Incubations
Act as an early engineering force for new startups
Build initial products, APIs, workflows, and prototypes that define the business
Help shape product direction alongside partners and founders
3) Operate Like a Founder
Understand business context and define what should be built—not just how
Evaluate tradeoffs across product, speed, and technical design
Adapt quickly as ideas evolve and new information emerge
4) Build in an AI-Native Way
Use AI tools to accelerate development, not replace thinking
Structure prompts, workflows, and iteration loops intentionally
Demonstrate strong problem framing, decomposition, and iteration style
Why This Role is Different
Direct Path to Founding
Opportunity to propose, validate, and launch new ideas
Path to become EIR or founder within the Red Cell ecosystem
Multi-Domain Exposure
Work across healthcare, cyber, and national security
Gain experience across multiple business models and products
Maximum Scope Early
Own product direction, not just implementation
Influence what gets built and why from day one
What “Great” Looks Like
You create clarity from ambiguity — you define the problem before solving it
You use AI as a true co-developer and can explain how you drive quality
You’re energized by early-stage chaos, not slowed down by it
You prefer building new things over maintaining systems
You think like a founder: ownership, speed, and first-principles reasoning
Who You Are
Strong technical background (software, systems, ML, or similar)
Experience building products or systems end-to-end
Demonstrated ability to work without clear requirements
Comfortable with rapid iteration and changing direction
Naturally curious about product + business problems
Nice to Have
Experience in early-stage startups or founder-like environments
Interest in eventually starting or leading a company
Salary Range: $140,000-300,000. This represents the typical base salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
