Description
SUMMARY: The Project Planner is responsible for the end-to-end execution of project planning deliverables, including design, application support, quality control, and order preparation across all represented product lines. This role performs the hands-on technical and production work required to move opportunities from pre-quote through order readiness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Project Design & Technical Execution
Produce drawings, layouts, renderings, and plans using CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other required tools
Design solutions for office, warehouse, healthcare, military, and workplace environments
Evaluate space constraints, user experience, product capability, and constructability
Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Revise drawings and designs based on customer, sales, vendor, or internal feedback
Support complex system upgrades, relocations, and reconfigurations
Product & Application Support
Serve as subject-matter expert on product applications, configurations, and limitations
Assist Sales during pre-planning and pre-quote stages to reduce revisions and delays
Provide guidance on product selection, logistics, installation considerations, and sequencing
Act as liaison with external vendors to obtain technical data and application clarification
Support specialty product lines including mobile shelving, modular millwork, lockers, interior systems, and storage solutions
Sales & Internal Collaboration
Confer with Sales to gather requirements, clarify scope, and support project strategy
Attend project meetings to gain deeper understanding of customer needs
Communicate proactively regarding missing information, risks, or constraints
Coordinate with pricing, operations, and installation teams as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in design, engineering, or space planning
Strong experience with CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, and related software
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong math skills (geometry, measurements, pricing calculations)
Experience in a sales-driven, project-based environment
Proficiency in Excel and CRM systems
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Microsoft Excel and Adobe Product Suite experience a plus.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Must have the ability to manage a large workload on a consistent basis.
Must have the ability to work well with others.
Experience with SalesForce software a plus.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
