Responsibilities
• Provides comprehensive nursing care to individuals receiving residential and crisis stabilization behavioral health services.
• Responsible for assessing physical and psychiatric conditions, administering medications, delivering therapeutic nursing interventions, and supporting a safe, structured treatment environment.
• Delivers evidence-based nursing and behavioral health services to individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
• Ensures compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Functions in accordance with applicable Washington State RCW and WAC requirements governing psychiatric nursing practice, behavioral health service delivery, and crisis stabilization care.
Requirements
• Current, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or a valid multistate RN license with authorization to practice in Washington State.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing psychiatric or behavioral health nursing care to individuals with mental illness or emotional disturbance under the supervision of a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse OR Associate’s Degree with a Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing psychiatric or behavioral health nursing care to individuals with mental illness or emotional disturbance under the supervision of a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse.
• Ability to provide required licensure supervision documentation and educational credentials prior to hire including supervising psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse name and license number when applicable.
• Ability to travel to multiple program locations within Washington State, as required by operational needs.
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher
• Experience in behavioral health substance use disorder or co-occurring disorder treatment
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team
• Experience with electronic health record systems
• Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse
• Knowledge of community resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, justice involvement or chronic behavioral health challenges
