Orion Placement is an innovation-driven architectural manufacturing partner seeking an Account Manager to build relationships with commercial architects and contractors. The role involves driving sales through specifications, delivering presentations, and managing a sales pipeline in the Dallas market.
Responsibilities
- Build and grow relationships with commercial architects, general contractors, and key installing contractors in your local market (Dallas or Miami)
- Drive sales through specifications by influencing product selection early in the design process
- Deliver engaging product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and on-site meetings to project stakeholders
- Proactively develop new opportunities through outreach, networking, and targeted project pursuit
- Manage a pipeline from discovery through proposal, pricing support, and close
- Coordinate with internal design and production teams to align on specs, finishes, timelines, and client requirements
- Support bids, proposals, and pricing strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Track activity, forecasts, and follow-ups using CRM and monthly reporting
- Attend weekly sales meetings and participate in relevant industry events as needed
Skills
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience selling to and presenting to commercial architects (A&D)
- Proven ability to drive wins through specifications (basis-of-design, written into specs, or approved vendor pathways)
- Strong relationships with commercial architects, and ideally GCs and wall/ceiling installing contractors
- Comfortable discussing technical details and coordinating across design, production, and field stakeholders
- Highly organized and effective working remotely with consistent follow-through
- Proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office (or similar tools)
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Manufacturer's rep or building products rep experience in Dallas or Miami is strongly preferred
- Experience with wall and ceiling products or systems is a plus (metal preferred: aluminum and steel)
