Lonza is a global leader in life sciences, and they are seeking an Account Manager to manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts. This role will drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and identify opportunities to expand Lonza’s Bioscience portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of strategic and high-value customer accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact
- Develop and execute account plans that drive revenue growth, increase product adoption, and expand market share within assigned accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, identifying business needs and aligning solutions with customer objectives
- Manage the sales pipeline from opportunity identification through contract execution, ensuring accurate forecasting and achievement of sales targets
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for pricing, contracts, and long-term business agreements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory, and Technical Support, to deliver seamless customer experience
- Partner with global colleagues to support technical transfers, supply continuity planning, and global account strategies
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and provide strategic recommendations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, business development, or customer-facing commercial roles within the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related industries
- Demonstrated success managing customer relationships and achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at multiple organizational levels
- Understanding of GMP-regulated environments and the impact of quality and compliance requirements on commercial activities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment and willingness to travel up to 30 – 50%
- Knowledge of bioprocessing, biotechnology, cell culture, or related life science markets
