Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator to support oncology research studies. This role is critical in advancing patient care and scientific discovery through effective coordination and oversight of clinical research activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain research databases; support data collection, management plans, and quality assurance activities
- Prepare, review, submit, and maintain regulatory and compliance documentation (e.g., IRB, Clinical Trials Office)
- Assist with grant and proposal preparation, award administration, and research submissions
- Provide operational oversight for clinical research projects, including management of study timelines, deliverables, and workflows
- Coordinate research activities across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including sponsors and collaborating institutions
- Develop study-specific operating procedures, workflow processes, manuals, and documentation
- Organize and coordinate meetings, trainings, and presentations; prepare agendas and facilitate training sessions
- Monitor study progress, identify and resolve project issues, and generate reports or presentations for investigators and stakeholders
- Manage study budgets and resources; track expenses and process financial transactions in alignment with study guidelines
- Maintain accurate records for personnel certifications, training completion, and compliance documentation
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
- Required Certifications: None
- This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Master's degree in a related field
- Prior experience in clinical research coordination within an academic or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with mobile and internet technology, remote data capture (i.e. REDCap) and basic data analysis
