Kain Colasanto, LLC is seeking a Director of Finance who will serve as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO and leadership team. This role involves overseeing the financial health, operational infrastructure, and administrative systems of the organization, ensuring financial discipline and supporting sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the executive team to develop strategic plans and translate initiatives into fiscally responsible plans
- Lead financial strategy including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budgets and monitor budget performance
- Produce quarterly financial statements and performance reports for leadership
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support organizational planning and decision-making
- Monitor economic trends and identify revenue opportunities, cost efficiencies, and operational improvements
- Serve on the Executive Committee and Leadership Team, contributing to company-wide strategy and growth
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition policies and procedures in alignment with accounting standards and contractual obligations
- Manage the company’s accounting systems and financial infrastructure in Quickbooks
- Maintain banking relationships and manage account access, controls, and financial documentation
- Oversee tax preparation and coordination with external tax advisors
- Maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure audit-ready financial documentation and reporting
- Monitor and manage organizational cash flow and maintain forecasting models
- Ensure alignment between operational activity and financial capacity
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect organizational stability
- Analyze company liabilities, investments, and capital structure
- Support leadership in evaluating financial sustainability and profitability
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll tax compliance for employees and contractors
- Manage employee onboarding related to payroll, benefits, and compensation
- Administer employee benefits including health insurance and retirement plans
- Manage the company’s 401(k) plan and coordinate with plan administrators
- Track PTO balances and maintain compensation-related employee records
- Serve as an internal point of contact for HR-related matters
- Coordinate with external HR consultants and service providers as needed
- Maintain compliance with employment regulations and benefits requirements
- Provide guidance on pricing strategy and profitability analysis
- Maintain faculty rate structures and compensation models
- Support business development with financial analysis related to project pricing
- Evaluate margins, cost structures, and financial performance across projects
- Maintain and optimize operational reporting systems such as Monday.com
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes across finance and operations
- Develop and maintain documentation for key financial and operational workflows
- Build reporting structures that improve visibility into company performance
- Partner with Business Development and Partnership teams to ensure financial clarity across projects
- Support contract development, onboarding and financial review of client engagements
- Ensure efficient workflows related to client onboarding, procurement, and project execution
- Facilitate alignment between finance and other key organizational functions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations leadership
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills
- Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, and financial operations
- CPA
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a growing organization
- MBA or advanced degree
