The Human Resources Specialist performs Talent Acquisition related duties at a professional level, focusing on proactive external talent sourcing and recruitment to fulfill the organization's talent needs.
Responsibilities
- Completes intake and strategy sessions with hiring managers to ensure the job description/posting accurately reflects the job duties, qualifications and appropriate competencies
- Proactively sources talent through various recruitment channels and talent pools (e.g., Hartnell College, LinkedIn, Indeed)
- Screens interest to narrow the applicant pool and presents the most qualified applicants to the hiring manager for review
- Conducts assessment interviews for hard-to-fill and leadership positions
- Advises leaders on the standard talent selection process to ensure the right talent is selected
- Partners with the hiring manager to prepare the conditional offer, references, pre-closing talent throughout the process based on our compensation philosophies and union contracts
- Delivers the job offer and negotiates on behalf of the hiring manager and organization
- Partners with the Total Rewards specialist when the recommended offer surpasses the 50th percentile or creates a real or perceived inequity
- Additionally, to keep a pulse on the market and any upcoming compensation adjustments or changes in compensation philosophy
- Assists in the cover/relief of other department staff as needed and assists with special projects as necessary
- Demonstrates necessary flexibility in regard to changes in the Hospital or department activities
- The position is expected to have a high level of political acumen and is expected to make decisions, handle complex problems, and provide support to clients including managing the same issue with both employees and management
- Is able to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision
Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or Human Resources related field strongly preferred
- HRCI or SHRM HR certification is preferred
- Experience preferably in Talent Acquisition / Recruitment, Talent Sourcing and Executive Level Recruitment
