Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Kellton is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to guide the architecture and technical direction for scalable applications. The role involves designing end-to-end solutions, mentoring engineers, and implementing best practices in a remote contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and technical direction for scalable AWS/Node.js/React applications, integrating GenAI/LLM capabilities into modern cloud platforms
- Design, build, and own end-to-end solutions using Node.js (TypeScript), React/Next.js, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch
- Develop secure, production-ready GenAI solutions (RAG, LLM integrations, AI infrastructure, observability, and governance)
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Drive engineering best practices, code quality, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, and operational excellence
- Mentor engineers, lead Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and influence technical decisions across teams
- Build event-driven, serverless, and asynchronous architectures leveraging AWS messaging services and NoSQL/relational databases
- Implement logging, monitoring, tracing, and production support using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and modern observability practices
