They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead strategic initiatives within the card platform, focusing on building backend solutions and collaborating with various teams to meet customer and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high performing backend engineering team (Kotlin & Python)
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Operations, and other engineering teams to develop a technical roadmap that meets customer & business needs
- Coach, develop, retain, and provide thoughtful feedback to team members
- Hold a high technical bar with a bias towards longevity and simplicity
- Foster a team culture around innovation, accountability, empathy, and execution
- Collaborate & align with other engineering leaders across Affirm
Skills
- 7+ years of Engineering experience, including 3+ years of Engineering Management/Leadership
- Experience and desire to change consumer financial services for the better
- Track record of successfully architecting, building, launching, and growing financial products at scale
- Proven ability to scale and foster a high-performing engineering team
- Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical rigor, innovative mindset, obsession over product excellence, and an ability to move fast
- This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Card network experience is a plus
