The Market Intelligence Analyst will support pricing, merchandising, finance, and sales decisions by managing and analyzing market and product data, improving data quality, and translating complex data into actionable business insights.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain market data, including collection, validation, categorization, and ongoing quality assurance
- Monitor external market data sources and vendor feeds to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely updates
- Develop scalable processes and quality controls to improve the reliability and usability of market data
- Support product categorization, item matching, hierarchy alignment, and category mapping to ensure accurate reporting and analysis
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, duplicate records, and classification gaps
- Build, maintain, and enhance reporting related to pricing performance, market trends, margin performance, discounting behavior, and category insights
- Develop Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports that support business decision-making
- Analyze market positioning, pricing trends, and business performance to identify risks and growth opportunities
- Proactively recommend process improvements and reporting enhancements that increase efficiency and usability
- Partner cross-functionally with Pricing, Merchandising, Finance, and Sales teams to support pricing strategy, category management, profitability analysis, and revenue growth initiatives
- Support leadership reporting, business reviews, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in market intelligence, pricing analytics, business analytics, finance, merchandising analytics, or a related analytical role
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actionable business insights
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Experience building or maintaining BI reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience supporting pricing, merchandising, category management, margin analysis, or sales performance reporting
- Experience working with product catalogs, item master data, product taxonomy, or data governance processes
- Experience with SQL, Power Query, Python, or other data transformation tools
- Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development and data modeling
- Understanding of commercial and financial performance drivers, including revenue, margin, and profitability
- Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve reporting, analysis, or productivity
