TenFore Golf is a company that builds software for golf course operations, and they are seeking a Senior Android Mobile Engineer with expertise in Kotlin. The role involves developing features for their POS and tee sheet booking app, Birdie, while integrating hardware and utilizing AI tools to enhance the software's functionality.
Responsibilities
- Building and shipping features in Birdie to real golf courses
- Working close to the metal on course operator tools — the stuff staff use during a Saturday morning rush when 40 people are trying to check in at once
- Integrating hardware: card readers, scanners, receipt printers. The messy, real-world stuff
- Using Claude and other AI tools to move faster — writing code, debugging, migrating, exploring. At the same time you need to not trust AI at all and second guess everything it does
- Updating Birdie to Compose Multiplatform. We need this thing to run on Windows 11
- Updating Birdie UI/UX completely. Our UI/UX guy has some sweet designs, we just need to get them in
- Occasionally helping on the back-end API needs (mostly stuff you need) in .NET
- 3 stand-ups per week
Skills
- Strong in Kotlin and you know your way around Compose (Multiplatform experience is a big plus, but if you've done solid Jetpack Compose we can talk)
- Comfortable building with AI — Claude, the Anthropic API, LLM integration, prompt work
- A doer. You take a vague problem, ask good questions, and come back with something that works. You don't wait to be handed a perfectly-groomed ticket
- Can work async and own your time. We don't babysit here, we hire grown-ups!
- Desktop Compose Multiplatform experience — you've built for keyboards, mice, and bigger screens, not just phones
- Experience with API work, especially in C#
- POS or internal-tooling background. If you've built software for an operator instead of a consumer, you already understand why reliability beats polish and what happens when the network drops mid-transaction
- Experience with hardware integration — card readers, printers, scanners, kiosks
