Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize cosmetic and skincare formulations, ensuring efficacy, stability, safety, and sensory appeal. Conduct bench-scale formulation trials, ingredient research, and compatibility testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless product development from concept to commercialization. Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical solutions throughout the product development lifecycle. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, raw materials, and scientific advancements in cosmetic chemistry. Prepare technical documentation, including formulation records, ingredient assessments, and manufacturing instructions. Evaluate raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet quality and performance specifications. Ensure all product formulations comply with global regulatory requirements and safety standards. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during scale-up and production phases. Mentor junior chemists and contribute to the overall knowledge base of the R&D department. Requirements Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation and product development within the beauty industry. Proven track record of successfully developing and launching a variety of cosmetic and skincare products. In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functionalities, safety profiles, and regulatory implications. Experience with various product types (e.g., emulsions, suspensions, actives, color cosmetics). Strong understanding of analytical techniques and stability testing protocols. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in working independently, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines in a remote environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Familiarity with global cosmetic regulations (e.g., FDA, EU, Health Canada).
