Consertus is a global capital program management and advisory firm that helps clients plan, execute, and optimize large-scale capital programs. The Senior Program Manager for the Federal group will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing resources to ensure successful project completion while maintaining client relationships and overseeing project management activities.
Responsibilities
- Manages, controls, and monitors project costs during all project phases
- Develops and manages project budget and cash flow analysis
- Prepares and reviews cost estimates
- Identifies potential areas of cost savings and acts to implement these ideas
- Monitors Cotter fees and contract performance
- Maintains the overall project schedule and works to ensure on-time completion
- Creates schedules using scheduling software, creating all activity linkages and durations
- Identifies schedule concerns and works with the project team to correct. Prepares and implements make-up schedules to get the work back on track
- Oversees the design team’s deliverables
- Visits job site to monitor progress and conformance with job schedule
- Actively manages the construction process with a focus on quality. Assures selection of materials and products in specification conform to quality requirements and applicable standards set forth by owner
- Performs thorough design reviews to ensure construction details are quality focused and drawings are coordinated
- Performs field inspections during construction process to ensure design intent and specifications are being met. Develops and manages completion of corrective action items
- Prepares contract agreements with assistance from upper management, including scope of work, deliverables, fee structure, reimbursable expenses, insurance coverage, and legal/accounting requirements
- Prepares and/or manages general contractor, consultant, and outside vendor contract agreements on behalf of the owner coordinating the responsibility of each
- Manages the building permit, inspection, and occupancy certificate process. Attends meetings on behalf of the owner as required
- Prepares and maintains documentation and project reports to deliver the scope of services as required per the contract
- Manages hours for each task to ensure the amount allocated in the contract is not exceeded
- Maintains relationship with client on an ongoing basis to enhance client satisfaction and increase potential for additional business
- Pursues new opportunities with current clients
- Assists with development and preparation of qualifications, proposals, and presentations
- Identifies new opportunities, meets and presents to prospective clients
Skills
- 15+ years related experience, including 5 years managing other PMs and acting as the project lead
- 5+ years managing projects for federal government agencies (GSA, US ACE, DOE, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to client sites within the continental US for site inspections and project oversight, including overnight travel
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field is preferred
