As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead critical projects, collaborate with various teams to create innovative solutions, and mentor other engineers in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural decisions and guide technical direction to ensure system efficiency and maintainability
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop innovative features and solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while following best practices in software development
- Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity in all engineering solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments
- Drive performance optimization, scalability improvements, and system reliability initiatives
- Conduct thorough code reviews, provide mentorship, and foster a culture of technical excellence within the team
- Own and improve the CI/CD pipeline to enhance deployment speed and reliability
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for best practices and new tools where appropriate
Skills
- Education: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience: 5-10+ years in professional full-stack or backend-focused software engineering roles
- Proven engineering experience in owning and operating production API and backend systems end-to-end (e.g., APIs, data stores, services)
- Strong system design and architectural judgment
- Ability to work independently, lead by example, and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly
- Pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset in fast-moving environments
- Experience using Spring Framework / Spring Boot and Java to build production applications
- Experience building Temporal workflows and activities
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs
- Experience building containerized applications with tools like Docker
- Experience with distributed version control systems like Git
- Experience using AI-assisted and/or agentic workflows
- Experience with large-scale data stores
- Experience with SQL database optimization
- Experience with graph databases like Neo4j
