Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Leybold is focused on developing innovative solutions and is seeking a Service Sales Engineer to drive aftermarket revenue growth. This role involves building customer relationships, identifying service opportunities, and delivering solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth through service agreements, preventative maintenance programs, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, field services, and spare parts solutions
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies that increase market penetration, revenue growth, and customer retention
- Generate new business through prospecting, customer visits, referrals, and competitive displacement initiatives
- Analyze the installed equipment base to identify service opportunities, lifecycle risks, modernization needs, and replacement opportunities
- Promote preventative and predictive maintenance strategies that improve reliability, reduce downtime, and maximize equipment performance
- Utilize equipment history, maintenance records, and field service findings to develop customer-specific recommendations
- Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for Leybold's aftermarket service business within the assigned territory
- Build and maintain relationships with maintenance, reliability, operations, procurement, and engineering stakeholders
- Conduct customer visits to assess equipment performance, understand operational challenges, and identify service opportunities
- Recommend service solutions that improve uptime, asset reliability, and total cost of ownership
- Develop proposals, quotations, service agreements, and business cases that demonstrate measurable customer value
- Promote, sell, and renew preventative maintenance agreements, service contracts, and long-term support programs
- Develop territory growth plans focused on customer engagement, installed base opportunities, and strategic account development
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
- Collaborate with equipment sales teams, applications engineers, service operations, and customer care teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience selling industrial equipment, technical services, aftermarket solutions, or reliability-focused products within manufacturing or industrial markets
- Strong understanding of consultative selling, account management, and value-based solution development
- Proven ability to build relationships with maintenance, engineering, operations, procurement, and plant leadership teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers and articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated success identifying customer needs and developing solutions that improve operational performance and equipment reliability
- Experience managing a sales territory, developing strategic account plans, and growing revenue within existing and new customer accounts
- Proven ability to manage sales pipelines, forecast accurately, and drive opportunities to successful closure
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing multiple customer opportunities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, service operations, and customer support teams
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and sales reporting tools
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer engagement and business development activities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory
- Ability to work independently while contributing to broader business objectives and team success
