Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AccessWave is a company specializing in the transportation of live research animals and pharmaceuticals. They are seeking a Staff Accountant who will manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and general ledger accounts. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, credit cards, and other financial records, proactively tracking down audit trail discrepancies
- Analyze transportation, freight, warehousing, fuel, and other operational expenses to identify cost trends and opportunities for improvement. Track and reconcile customer billing, carrier invoices, and vendor payments
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and the preparation of ad hoc management reports for leadership
- Ensure strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, tax regulations, and internal controls. Assist with external audits and year-end tax preparation
- Collaborate remotely with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial data and cost allocation
Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience
- Minimum of 5 years of advanced, daily operational experience with QuickBooks
- Minimum of 5 years of advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (expert level with XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial data modeling)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Strong, foundational knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality
- High level of personal autonomy, exceptional time management, and a dedicated, quiet home office setup equipped with reliable high-speed internet
- CPA designation
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing environments
- Corporate Scale & Industry: Direct experience working within a company generating $15 Million to $25 Million in annual gross revenue
