Academian Inc is seeking an experienced Vice President – Workforce Business Development to lead the expansion of their presence across workforce development and education sectors. This role involves driving strategic growth through partnerships and consultative sales in the workforce education ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Academian's workforce business development strategy
- Build and expand strategic partnerships across higher education, workforce organizations, healthcare providers, employers, and adult learning organizations
- Generate new business opportunities and establish relationships with executive decision-makers, including Provosts, Vice Presidents of Workforce Development, Deans, Chief Learning Officers, and workforce leaders
- Lead complex, consultative sales cycles focused on long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales
- Identify emerging market opportunities and influence new service offerings through customer and market insights
- Collaborate with product, academic, instructional design, and delivery teams to develop client-centric solutions
- Represent Academian at industry conferences, executive meetings, and networking events to increase market visibility
- Drive pipeline growth, new logo acquisition, and long-term revenue expansion
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- 15+ years of business development, strategic partnerships, or enterprise sales experience within workforce development, higher education, professional education, or EdTech
- Demonstrated success selling consultative solutions, content services, digital learning, curriculum development, instructional design, AI-enabled learning solutions, or education technology
- Proven ability to build executive-level relationships and close complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities
- Existing network within higher education, workforce organizations, community colleges, healthcare education, employer learning, or state workforce agencies
- Strong understanding of workforce readiness, continuing education, non-credit learning, microcredentials, competency-based education, employer-sponsored education, and workforce training trends
- Experience working with Higher Education Institutions
