<p>Peregrine Team is hiring a Human Resources Consultant to support a client based in Washington. This position is a contract role with full benefits and competitive pay.</p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>FMLA: Exempt</p><p>Peregrine Team is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to deliver high-impact HR advisory services in a dynamic environment. This role will act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance across a broad range of HR functions with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and union engagement.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR policies, practices, and risk mitigation</li><li>Partner with leaders to assess organizational needs and provide recommendations on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy</li><li>Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actions</li><li>Advise on union-related matters, including interpretation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), grievance processes, and labor relations strategy</li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, Washington state, and local employment laws, proactively identifying and mitigating risk</li><li>Analyze HR data, trends, and metrics to inform decision-making and provide actionable insights to leadership</li><li>Support and guide performance management processes, including coaching strategies, development planning, and performance improvement</li><li>Advise on leave of absence, accommodations, and related compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA)</li><li>Lead or support HR audits, compliance reviews, and process assessments to identify gaps and recommend scalable solutions</li><li>Partner with stakeholders to drive change management initiatives, including restructures, policy implementation, and organizational transitions</li><li>Facilitate training sessions and provide guidance to managers on HR best practices and leadership effectiveness</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., legal counsel) as needed to support business objectives</li><li>Provide recommendations to enhance HR programs, policies, and overall employee experience</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR advisory or consulting capacity</li><li><b>Required:</b> Experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretation and grievance handling</li><li>Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels (Washington preferred)</li><li>Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, including conducting investigations and managing complex, sensitive situations</li><li>Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels</li><li>High level of discretion with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity</li><li>Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred</li><li>SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification preferred</li></ul>
