The Product Manager role works alongside the Head of Product within the Presales, Product, and Partnerships group. Product vision at Automate is set by the Head of Product, informed by market intelligence, user feedback, and input from all Automate teams, and the next step is building the practice and capacity that lets that direction translate consistently into execution. The Product Manager is the dedicated driver of that work: expanding the reach of the product function and bringing formal structure to the Product Development Practice.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Decompose strategic initiatives into discrete, sequenced product capabilities with clear scope boundaries
Author product requirements that engineering can estimate and execute against with minimal ambiguity
Sequence roadmap commitments based on customer impact, technical dependency, and competitive urgency
Define success conditions for each roadmap item: how the team will know the capability delivered on its intent
Maintain a defensible roadmap narrative that holds up to internal scrutiny and external customer conversations
Define how AI capabilities integrate into the product roadmap as differentiated features, not check-box additions
Identify and deploy AI tools that measurably improve product team velocity: research, requirements drafting, competitive synthesis, customer signal analysis
Connect the AI roadmap to the hybrid intelligence positioning that differentiates Automate in regulated environments
Evaluate AI investments against measurable outcomes: customer impact, internal capacity gain, or competitive position
Set a high bar for AI initiatives: every proposal answers what it is for, who it serves, and how the team will know it worked
Establish the cadence and structure of roadmap reviews, prioritization sessions, and engineering handoffs
Build the artifact set the practice will rely on: PRD templates, prioritization frameworks, validation checklists, retrospective formats
Define how roadmap input is received, evaluated, and routed from every contributing source (field, customers, engineering, partners, executive)
Document the practice itself so it can be understood, operated within, and extended by future product hires
Surface the trade-offs explicitly when commitments conflict, rather than absorbing the conflict and creating downstream surprises
Maintain regular working relationships with engineering leadership: shared understanding of capacity, dependencies, and trade-offs
Receive structured field signal from Solution Architecture and Customer Success, and route it into the product pipeline
Provide partner-facing roadmap context that supports channel conversations without committing to dates that cannot be defended
Communicate roadmap progress, scope changes, and decisions in a way that scales: a single source of truth rather than ad hoc messages
Represent the customer and market view in internal strategy conversations, with sourced evidence rather than impression
