HqO is connecting real estate to people with a powerful suite of applications and services. They are hiring a motivated Staff Accountant to join their Boston-based finance team, responsible for core accounting functions and improving efficiencies through technology.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, cash disbursements and perform daily bank reconciliations
- Own parts of the close process and prepare journal entries and maintain monthly account reconciliations
- Reduce manual work by leveraging technology (systems, integrations, AI) across all areas of accounting
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate expense recognition, resolve discrepancies, support the close process, and streamline accounting workflows
- Assist with annual audits and tax filings. Work closely with the Controller to ensure compliance across all entities
- Dive into ad hoc projects across all areas of accounting and finance as required as part of a growing startup team
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting
- 1-2+ years of experience in an accounting role (including internships, if applicable)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing deadlines and changing priorities
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats to support the team's priorities and goals
- Robust analytical skills, effective problem solving and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Resourcefulness and the ability to challenge the status quo and separate good from perfect
