Milliman's New York - Atlanta Health Practice serves the life sciences industry in addition to broader healthcare clients. Our services include market access and strategy, data analytics, policy consulting, and real-world evidence generation. We bring unparalleled cross-discipline expertise to our life sciences consulting, including actuarial, analytical, clinical, and policy expertise.
This is not a generic sales role. The Life Sciences Strategic Partnerships Manager will be prospecting into life science buyers, and success in this role depends on understanding how these prospects operate, who the decision makers are, and what their priorities are at any given moment in their pipeline or product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Supporting life sciences practice business development and other practice operations, including:
Manage practice sales cycle, including supporting identification and monitoring of sales opportunities across life sciences clients, and navigating complex procurement and stakeholder environments
Build and maintain target account lists across the practice’s priority life sciences segments, including pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics, and related healthcare organizations
Research buyer titles and teams relevant to the practice’s offerings, including market access, medical affairs, HEOR, policy, Part D and commercial strategy, and real-world evidence leadership
Develop and execute multi-touch outbound campaigns timed to life sciences-relevant events, including product launches, policy developments, clinical milestones, earnings calls, conference calendars, and leadership transitions
Monitor industry signals such as regulatory developments, company announcements, executive moves, and commercialization activity, and translate them into prospecting hooks
Schedule qualified discovery meetings between life sciences buyers and practice leadership
Support the practice’s presence at key industry conferences focused on life sciences and healthcare, and follow up on conference and event leads from these gatherings
Support webinar audience development with target lists drawn from priority accounts and buyer titles
Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene with accurate activity, lead status, account intelligence, and notes
Bring market intelligence and prospecting ideas back to weekly pipeline meetings
Hit and exceed quarterly qualified meeting targets
Lead the development of proposals, bids, quotations, Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses, and other written/oral communications describing life sciences-focused services, including market access, policy, and real-world evidence
Manage relationships with business partners and sub-contractors
Supporting cross practice business development, including shared content/knowledge management, conference planning and execution, and development of specific proposals
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing or related field
10+ years healthcare or life sciences experience, including familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or related healthcare sectors
20+ years experience developing and managing professional services proposals related to healthcare, life sciences, market access, policy, or real-world evidence engagements
20+ years experience supporting professional services sales cycles, including managing proposal development, internal and external knowledge-sharing and marketing activities, and content management for healthcare or life sciences offerings
Personal Qualifications
Active listener with exceptional oral and written communication skills
Expertise with MS PowerPoint and Word; proficiency with MS Excel
Detail oriented, with strong attention to detail in grammar, design, development, and strategic mindset
Exceptional marketing, networking, and communication skills
Ability to portray a professional image consistent with Milliman's role as a consultant with phone calls, e-mails, and other correspondence
Ability to work independently within a team-based consulting environment
Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills
Willingness to learn new skills and offer input
Location
This role is based out of the Milliman office in New York, NY, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US. Travel is expected for client meetings, conferences, networking events, and other business development activities. The anticipated closing date for this posting is June 26, 2026.
Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $131,600 - $249,780. For candidates residing in:
Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Newark, San Jose, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the range is $151,340 - $249,780
All other locations the range is $131,600 - $217,200
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
