- Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues

- Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provides input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.
- Performs other duties as required by the District, the school, or student need.
- Advanced knowledge of adolescent growth and development.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents related to safety, technology, and educational procedures.
- Ability to prepare and communicate effectively through written reports, lesson plans, and correspondence.
- Skill in computing and interpreting data, including rate, ratio, and percent calculations.
- Proficiency in PC operations and software applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Capability to serve as a liaison with various professionals and effectively collaborate with parents and guardians.
- Capacity to adapt instructional strategies and provide accommodations to meet individual student needs.
- Strong physical capability to manage classroom and student needs, including potential crisis intervention situations and lifting non-ambulatory students.
- Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
- Meets Georgia state certification requirements in Special Education.
- 190 day work year.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Adopted Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).
