The Opportunity
GRT Corporation is hiring an electrical engineer to provide technical support to our sales motion for our SaaS + edge-device platform for predictive maintenance .
This is not a sales role. We need the technical voice in the room — the engineer who can answer hard questions on a customer call so the sales team can advance the deal.
Engagement is structured as contract-to-hire: an initial paid contract period, with conversion to full-time employment plus equity upon demonstrated performance.
What You’ll Actually Do
•Be the technical backbone of our sales team — joining discovery calls with fleet technical directors and chief engineers, answering deep questions about three-phase power systems, motor drives, FFT spectral analysis, and signal processing in real time
• Lead the technical portion of discovery and qualification calls with vessel owners, operators, and classification society surveyors
• Demonstrate the SENTINEL platform: real-time monitoring, FFT spectrum analysis, Digital Twin predictive maintenance, and alerting
• Write the technical sections of proposals (system architecture, sensor specs, installation scope, compliance posture)
• Support pilot installations remote or on-site as needed
• Build technical content: white papers, application notes, FAQ/objection-handling material
What You Bring (Required)
• BSEE (MSEE preferred) — power systems, signal processing, or controls
• Demonstrated understanding of the physics behind ESA — phasor relationships, fault-specific sideband generation, harmonic signatures, sigma-delta ADC and FFT signal chain
• Ability to lead technical discussions in the ESA fields with credibility
• Embedded hardware literacy (ARM Cortex-M, SPI/I²C, schematic and BOM reading)
• Strong written and verbal English; comfortable presenting on camera to senior engineering audiences
Plus (Not Required)
• Shipboard exposure — marine engineering officer, electrical officer, or fleet superintendent background
• Familiarity with marine switchboards, marine UPS/battery systems, or marine power-electronics PCBs
• Classification society or marine OEM exposure
• Predictive maintenance certifications (CMRP, CMRT, Vibration Analyst Cat I–III)
Include a brief note on your EE background and how you would explain the physics of bearing-fault detection via ESA.
