Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and passionate HR professional to join our team as a Part-time HR Consultant. As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from home and manage your own schedule, with occasional onsite visits in Orange County, California. This position is part-time, approximately 20-24 hours per week, and offers a competitive salary of $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Part-time HR Consultant at RemotelyHR, you will be responsible for:
- Providing HR consulting services to clients, including advice on employee relations, California compliance, regulations, and drafting policies and procedures
- Managing payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness, following state and federal wage and hour laws
- Assisting with creating seamless onboarding and off-boarding processes and paperwork for clients
- Creating and updating employee handbooks
- Performing administrative tasks, such as:
- Uploading and organizing employee files in Google Drive
- Updating corresponding spreadsheets with precision
- Managing Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and W9s for clients
- Assisting with recruiting (secondary task for select clients), including sourcing and hiring top talent
- Performing other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of California HR/payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on projects, as assigned
- Bi-lingual is a plus, but not required
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses in California
- Knowledge of HR software and systems, such as Google Drive and spreadsheet management
- Certifications in HR, such as SHRM-CP or PHR
