Thalamus is hiring a Vice President of Marketing to lead the function during a critical phase of growth. As we expand beyond graduate medical education (GME), you’ll help define and execute the go-to-market strategy for two major business lines: Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Physician Recruitment. Reporting to the CEO and partnering with our Chief Product Technology Officer, you’ll shape our brand identity, GTM motions, and narrative strategy across multiple customer segments and product lines.
This is a foundational leadership role—responsible for building scalable marketing systems, messaging that resonates with both enterprise and clinical audiences, and campaigns that drive awareness, demand, and market category leadership. You'll lead a high-performing team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure marketing is tightly aligned to company strategy, product roadmap, and sales outcomes.

What You Will Achieve
Brand Leadership. Develop and evolve a brand strategy that spans Thalamus’ entire ecosystem—from medical students to health systems. Define a cohesive identity that supports both GME and our emerging Data-as-a-Service and Physician Recruitment offerings. Ensure clarity and consistency across every touchpoint, guided by brand insights and performance data.
Go-to-Market Strategy Execution. Build the foundational marketing engine—from team structure to operational playbooks—that supports near-term enterprise sales and long-term category creation. Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of multi-channel campaigns that generate demand, support product launches, and drive commercial success in new markets.
Performance Measurement Optimization. Establish a KPI framework to measure the impact of brand, growth, and content initiatives. Leverage marketing analytics to inform strategy, iterate campaigns, and communicate outcomes to the executive team and board. Use insights to drive operational excellence, budget allocation, and team prioritization.
Executive Collaboration Cross-Functional Alignment. Serve as the strategic marketing partner to the CEO, CPTO, and executive team. Collaborate across Product, Sales, CX, and Talent to ensure marketing accelerates company-wide goals. Lead the storytelling and enablement needed to position Thalamus as a category-defining brand in healthcare workforce intelligence.
Content, Events, and Employer Brand. Own Thalamus’ voice across content, communications, and thought leadership. Lead a high-impact content strategy, guide event participation and execution, and elevate our employer brand to attract top talent aligned with our mission.
AI Marketing Technology Enablement. Deploy modern marketing tools, AI capabilities, and analytics platforms that amplify team output and unlock new insights. Champion a test-and-learn culture that drives innovation and continuous improvement.
You should have …
12+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in executive or VP-level leadership roles at B2B SaaS or marketplace companies, ideally within high-growth or startup environments.
Demonstrated success building and scaling marketing functions from the ground up—across brand, growth, product marketing, content, and communications.
Experience marketing to enterprise healthcare buyers (e.g., hospital systems, HR leaders, physician groups), with an understanding of healthcare decision cycles and procurement nuances.
Strong grasp of AI-enabled tools, modern marketing tech stacks, and performance analytics to drive efficiency, personalization, and decision-making.
A strategic operator who can shape long-term vision while executing near-term plans with speed, focus, and resourcefulness.
Exceptional storytelling, executive presence, and influence across cross-functional teams—including CEO, Product, and Sales stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, launch new products or business lines, and build trust with technical and commercial audiences.
Passion for mission-driven work and the grit to build in a scrappy, fast-paced, and remote-first environment.

The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 and a grant of stock options. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
