The Brixton Group is seeking a Payments Processing Consultant to join a specialized engineering team supporting a large-scale payments modernization initiative for a major credit card network. The role focuses on modernizing critical back-end payments systems by reducing technical debt, improving platform resiliency, strengthening security, and enhancing processing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance software supporting high-volume payment network processing
- Modernize legacy applications through architecture improvements and technical debt reduction
- Analyze and remediate application security vulnerabilities within critical payment processing systems
- Build scalable, resilient services supporting settlement and dispute workflows
- Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java and modern software engineering practices
- Collaborate with senior engineering teams to improve reliability, maintainability, and operational performance
Skills
- 12+ years of professional Java software development experience
- Hands-on software engineering experience supporting payment network Settlement Engine platforms
- Hands-on software engineering experience supporting payment network Disputes Resolution back-end processing
- Candidates with hands-on engineering experience supporting the core transaction processing systems of a major payment network are strongly preferred
